You left out hops, skullcap, intoxicating mint, blue lotus and more then a few others including wild lettuce. all the above mentioned except for intoxicating mint are sedatives.

This article is horribly full of errors. Virtually every single plant has some error in its description, and some of them are not even the right plant.

Actually the ayahuasca vine aka banisteriopsis caapi does not contain DMT however it contains the MAOI. In the Ayahuasca drink the DMT comes from the leaves of the other plant (usually chacruna or chaliponga).

Hafizur, its the same plant and it is actually spelled paan. The plant is called paan, betel nut, and areca nut. It is all the same plant. While it produces no real nuts, the seeds are very nut like and were misidentified many years ago, and the name has stuck.

@hafizur – Seriously, Both are the same thing, the nut comes from the plant. the leaves as well as the nut are edible and considered “drugs” in india. also the cause of mouth, tongue and throat cancer.
